OJJDP has promoted Parents Anonymous®

published a special family strengthening bulletin
focusing exclusively on the Parents Anonymous®
model, and supported the development of this

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)
U.S. Departsment of Health and Human Services
Parents Anonymous® Inc. is successfully
collaborating with the CDC to develop a
National Child Abuse Prevention Plan through
an innovative initiative BECAUSE Kids Count!
(Building and Enhancing Community Alliances
United for Safety and Empowerment).
A National Workgroup has been established and
its diverse membership includes National Parent
Leaders, Network Executive Directors and other
Public Health and Child Abuse experts.

OCAN collaborates with Parents Anonymous®

on Child Abuse and Neglect in 2003. |

Department of Social Services,
Office of Child Abuse Prevention (OCAP)
Through this dynamic partnership, Parents Anonymous®
Inc. is working with California child abuse
prevention agencies to help them develop meaningful
opportunities and roles for Parent Leaders.
A first ever California Parent Leadership Team
was also established at the request of OCAP
to improve family support programs and child
abuse prevention efforts throughout the state.

Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS)
The Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
and Parents Anonymous® Inc. are partnering to provide
a comprehensive program of training and technical
assistance to Texas Community Based Child Abuse
Prevention (CBCAP) programs responsible for developing
and sustaining local Community Partnerships for
Strengthening Families in six sites. The sites have
implemented the Shared Leadership in Action Program to
engage parents in unique partnerships with staff through
community assessment processes, formal Shared Leadership
trainings and development of a wide variety of meaningful
leadership roles for parents. As a result, the Community
Partnerships are establishing strong continuums of preventive,
family-focused services in their local communities.

Marguerite Casey Foundation
The Marguerite Casey Foundation is collaborating
with Parents Anonymous® Inc. on the Parents in
Action Project. This major initiative provides
Shared Leadership training, technical assistance
and ongoing support to low income Spanish speaking
parents and representatives from community-based
organizations interested in strengthening their
communities. The goal of the project is to assist
parents in working effectively with local
organizations to advocate for improved programs,
policies and practices that reflect the needs of
the local communities.

Alliance of Children's Trust & Prevention
Funds
Parents Anonymous® Inc. works
in close collaboration with the National Alliance
of Children's Trust & Prevention Funds to
support families and actively participates in
the prevention of child abuse and neglect efforts. |

National
Association of Public Child Welfare Administrators
Working collaboratively with NAPCWA, Parents
Anonymous® Inc. reviewed and
provided feedback on the Child Protective Services
guidelines emphasizing Parent Leadership and
Shared Leadership strategies, which would enhance
policy issues and strengthen practice methods.

ARCH
National Respite Network and Resource Center
- The ARCH National Respite and Resource Center
helps families locate respite and crisis care
programs and some of these vital centers host
Parents Anonymous® Programs. |
Many
U.S. Senators and Representatives have strong
commitments to working with Parents Anonymous®
Inc. to ensure the implementation of successful
Parents Anonymous® Programs in
their state and/or congressional district. |
