"...Parent
Leaders who are part of Parents Anonymous®'s
network offer us all important insights about
what it takes to build strong families. We
are pleased to have Parents Anonymous®
as a partner in our community child protection
efforts."

From
our beginnings, Parent Leadership has been the foundation
for Parents Anonymous® Inc. to implement
its mission and we partner with Parents Anonymous®
Parent Leaders in everything we do!
|
| We
took Parent Leadership to a new level when we created
the first ever National Parent Leadership Team®
(NPLT), a national organizational unit that ensures
meaningful Parent Leadership roles beyond the Parents
Anonymous® Group. The NPLT is composed
of a diverse group of mothers, fathers and grandparents
who demonstrated leadership in their local Parents
Anonymous® Groups and organizations
and who expressed an interest in expanding their leadership
roles. The NPLT partners with us on: |
| |
• |
Policy
decisions |
| |
• |
Designing
and conducting national trainings and technical
assistance with organizations and parents |
| |
• |
Developing
and editing program materials |
| |
• |
Serving
as the Editorial Board of The Parent Networker,
our National Newsletter for parents |
| |
• |
Interviews with national, state and local media
by sharing their personal stories to reach out
to parents and to ensure that the voices of
parents are heard on issues related to families
and children |
| |
• |
Representing
Parents Anonymous® Inc. on important
state and national decision-making boards and
commissions |
| |
• |
Advocating
for policies and services that strengthen and
support families |
|
|
Based
on the success of the NPLT, many state and local Parents
Anonymous® organizations have developed
Parent Leadership Teams to accomplish similar goals
in their own communities. |
