violent domestic crimes and is highlighted in
NCPC's publication entitled "50 Strategies
to Prevent Violent Domestic Crimes" (2002).
The program was selected because of the innovation
it brings to the field and its ease of accessibility
to victims of domestic crime. |

Promising Family Program to Prevent Substance
Abuse |
The
Parents Anonymous® Program was
identified as a Promising Family Program to
prevent substance abuse by the federal Center
for Substance Abuse Prevention. The program
is showcased in the publication entitled "Strengthening
America's Families: Model Family Programs for
Substance Abuse and Delinquency Prevention"
which highlights research-based prevention programs
that are family-focused and have demonstrated
effectiveness (2000). |

the U.S. Commission on Child and Family Welfare,

of the Nation, as a National Model for parents
helping other parents and Parent Leadership

U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Juvenile
Justice and Delinquency Prevention, through
an independent panel of experts, selected the
Parents Anonymous® Program as
a National Model Family Strengthening Program
for the prevention of juvenile delinquency (1995). |
