California State Parent Team

For over a decade, Parents Anonymous® Inc. and the California Department of Social Services, Office of Child Abuse Prevention, have been successfully partnering together with parents to promote and implement "Shared Leadership" strategies throughout California so that parents take on leadership roles and become involved in critical decision-making to ensure responsive services and better outcomes for families. We are pleased to highlight the California State Parent Team, a unique Team of Parent Leaders, who are involved in state level program and policy decisions that affect children and families.

The California State Parent Team (CSPT) has been developed to ensure that the “parent voice” is utilized in shaping the direction of family support programs, services and policies throughout California. The CSPT consists of parents selected through a nomination process, who collaborate with the Department on various committees and task forces to ensure that parents are actively engaged in the planning, implementation and evaluation of family support and child welfare services statewide. The selected Team members include parents who have participated in family support and child welfare services and represent diversity in ethnicity, gender, and geographical area.
